Advent and Christmas are behind us; Lent and Easter are just ahead of us. February is kind of an “in-between” time on the church calendar. During this in-between time, we will be wrapping up our focus on living deep in relationship with Jesus. It’s important to have a strong relationship with Jesus, so we can be faith-filled Disciples and live the lives that God has given us with the deep joy and sureness that Jesus is our cornerstone.
    As we learn to live deep in relationship with Jesus, a lot is happening around the church! The Session has decided it is time to update the sanctuary a bit. In the next few weeks, you will see some fresh paint, new carpet and a new sound and video system, among other things. It is the prayer of Session that making these changes will expand Elwood Community Church’s ability to be a light for Jesus in the community. If you have any questions about any of the changes in the sanctuary, or if you have any suggestions, please let me or a member of Session know!
    One more thing – please pray. Please pray that all who desire a relationship with Jesus Christ find Him. Please pray that we each heed the Holy Spirit’s direction for our lives and that Elwood Community Church be a bright light for the Kingdom of God.
